AB Sugars proposes an expansion of its bagasse-based co-gen power plant at Village Randhawa, dist. Hoshiarpur, Punjab. The current status of the project could not be ascertained. The capacity bagasse-based co-gen power plant from 33 MW to 37 MW. The project is part of expansion of its sugar plant from 7,000 TCD to 12,000 TCD. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 170 million. The project is coming up in the existing land of 170 acres. The existing bagasse-based co-gen power plant consists of 80 TPH and 120 TPH boiler and now the company is going to add 2x32 TPH boiler. Perfact Enviro Solutions is the environmental consultant. Approximately 2,000 Kg/day of ETP sludge shall be generated from waste water of ETP. It shall be stored in secured manner and sent to authorized TSDF. The project is planned for completion in 2019.
