Aegis Logistics is planning a bulk liquid storage terminal at Haldia Dock Complex, dist. East Midnapore, West Bengal. The company has firmed up plans to put up new/additional storage capacity at Pipavav, Kochi and Haldia during the next 18-24 months at an investment exceeding Rs. 4,000 million. Aegis has acquired a plot measuring 5 acres from Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) and proposes to set up a liquid storage terminal for storing petroleum (C class) and non-petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and bitumen, etc. of total capacity 1,05,050 KL in the plot at Haldia Dock Complex. The development liquid storage terminal with allied facilities for storage, handling and distribution and export of products including product jetty pipelines, unloading facilities, allied machinery, loading gantries for onward distribution by road and sea at the existing plot of the company allotted by the Haldia Dock Complex. The liquid storage terminal will have connectivity to the jetty through dedicated pipelines. The storage facility will comprise of 34 tanks for liquid storage. The cost for construction of tanks & allied infrastructure is Rs. 381 million. The construction of new facilities is mainly for importing / exporting, storage and distribution. Land area is 20,234.28 sq. mtrs. with built up area of 2,249 sq. mtrs. The proposed development is planned within the port premises on its existing land allotted by HDC (already leased). The project has been filed in Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change(MoEF). Construction will be started post all the statutory clearances and will require approximate 12 to 18 months for completion. [Info as of: Jan. `18]
