Although local community based NGOs and CBOs are best suited to carry out cost effective community based inteventions,there is need to build their capacity to effectively deliver environmental,social and economic benefits in GEF Focal areas. Specifically there is a great need in undertsanding GEF Focal areas in Malawi Context (policies,activities and programmes).There are also gaps in project development monitoring and evaluation for community based organisation.Other gaps exist in Community Based Natural Resources Management and Reporting in GEF Areas. Prijects Specific Objectives: - To increase availability of reference materials and training manuals in GEF focal areas by GEF SGP grantees at community level - To increase knowledge of GEF SGP grantees in understanding GEF focal areas in Malawian context. - To improve skills of GEF SGP grantees in project planning,implementation,monitoring and evaluation and reporting in GEF focal areas. - To increase information sharing documentation and networking amongst GEF SGP grantees.
