Andhra Pradesh Granite (Midwest), a part of Midwest Group, proposes an expansion of its black galaxy granite mining project at Village R L Puram, dist. Prakasam, Andhra Pradesh from 1,026 cu. mtrs/ annum to 54,643 cu. mtrs/annum. The current status of the project could not be ascertained. According to MoEF sources, mining lease area is 19.425 hectares. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 305.197 million. Method of mining will be opencast semi mechanized.
