Belgaum Sugars, an associate company of Satish Sugars Group, proposes an expansion of its sugar plant and co-gen power plant at Village Hudali, dist. Belagavi, Karnataka. The capacity of the sugar plant will be augmented from 3,500 TCD to 7,500 TCD and co-gen power plant from 14 MW to 36 MW. The current status of the project could not be ascertained. According to MoEF sources, total existing land area is 50 acres and greenbelt area is 17 acres. The expansion will come up on existing land. The estimated cost of the expansion project is Rs. 1,974.4 million. Environmental Health And Safety Consultants is the consultant. Power requirement of 500 kwh will be met from existing co-gen unit or KPTCL. Effluent generated will be treated in the upgraded ETP of 1,000 KLD. [Info as of: Feb. `17]
