Deccan Cements is planning an expansion of the Bhavanipuram limestone mine-3 at Village Mahankali Gudem, dist. Nalgonda, Telangana from 0.3 MTPA to 2.3 MTPA. Consultant is appointed. The project is waiting for environmental clearance. According to MoEF sources, the mining lease area is 183.11 hectares. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 20 million. The type of mining is fully mechanized method. The company proposes to enhance the production capacity of the mine-3 to meet the limestone requirement of its 1.5 MTPA cement plant at Village Mahankali Gudem due to exhaust of reserve at Bhavanipuram Limestone Mine-2. The life of mine will be 33 years. 16.06 hectares will be developed as green belt. [Info as of: Oct. `15]
