Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation proposes a 100,000 TPA Iso Propyl Alcohol (IPA) manufacturing unit at Mandal Etcherla, dist. Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh on 393,576.928 sq. mtrs. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 5,000 million. The current status of the project could not be ascertained. According to MoEF sources, the plant will manufacture petroleum products and petrochemical based product like 100,000 TPA isopropyl alcohol & 7,500 TPA Di Iso Propyl Ether (DIPE) (byproduct), 35,000 TPA propane (byproduct), 900 TPA lighter ends (byproduct), 1,200 TPA heavier ends (byproduct). The industrial plot is allocated/owned at Ponnada by M/s Smatchem Technologies (STL), which is a 100% subsidiary of the company. It is expected that the project shall be completed within 36 months from the grant of environmental clearance.
