Foothills of northern slope of Turkestan range are the habitats of quickly reducing species tulip Rosovyi. Almaluu tract is a grazing zone not only for local villages but also for villages located in Tajikistan. The main reason of disappearance are trampling down and eating up by the cattle, and also collection of tulips by the population during its period of blossoming. The main goal of the project is stopping of tulips destruction by means of grazing regulation, plantation of bush vegetation on 10 hectares and raising awareness of the population about the necessity of tulip conservation. In the course of project implementation it is intended obtaining of following results: Ecological -conservation and reproduction of endemic species tulip included into Red Data Book of Kyrgyzstan, -rehabilitation of bush vegetation destroyed by firewood stocking up and cattle grazing;; Economic -collection of fruits of wild fruit bushes (pistachio and almonds) and getting oil from fruits is an additional source of income; Social and cultural - possibly attitude to habit of collecting big bouquets of tulips will change in spring thanks to explanatory information and belonging of the plot to NGO. Actions to be undertaken by Public Foundation Kunduz 1. Conducting 3 training seminars and 1 conference for the local population. 2. Fence the 10 hectares territory. 3. Planting saplings of almonds and pistachios. 4. Creation workshop for producing almond and pistachio oil for alternative livelihood . 5. Inventory research of Rozoviy tulip. 6. To make and install board about Rozoviy tulip. 7. Publishing posters and brochures. 8. Information campaign.The main activity of the project will take place on Tamchi plot in Almaluu tract. Almaluu tract formally belongs to the territory of state zakaznik (one of the form of protected territories), but actually protection measures are not maintained by anyone. The main expected ecological and economic benefits of the project are: Rehabilitation of habitat of endemic species included into Red Data Book of Kyrgyzstan; Appearance of alternative to cattle-breeding kinds of managing (collection of fruits and production from it valuable oil)
