Government Of Assam is planning to set up a tea park at Chaygaon, dist. Kamrup, Assam. The proposed warehousing facilities are warehousing space, logistic infrastructure-truck yard, service centres, driver facilities & other transport related infrastructure, office. Common facilities such as commercial space to house tea brokers/buyers and others tea related personal, tea auction centre space, convention centre, meeting rooms, exhibition halls, hotel, tea tasting facility, tea R & D facilities, packaging related space, tea blending related space, recreation facilities, internal road with drainage system, sewerage, drainage etc. Assam Industrial Development Corporation is the Nodal Agency. Grant Thronton, Gurgaon is appointed as consultant for preparation of Detail Project Report (DPR) including technical and financial feasibility. Draft DPR with two option i.e. fully automatic and semi automatic storage handling model is submitted by the consultant with projected cost of Rs. 3,532 million and Rs. 35,753 million respectively. Civil contractor for the project is yet to be appointed. Boundary construction & land leveling work has been started. Building construction is yet to commence.
