Gujarat Tea Processors And Packers, a part of Wagh Bakri Tea Group, has commissioned a 125 KW solar power rooftop facility at its Dholka Tea Factory, dist. Ahmedabad, Gujarat in September 2016. The facility is spread across 12,500 sq. ft area. It is estimated that this facility will have over 400 solar panels, each generating 300 Watt energy per day. This solar power facility shall generate 200,000 units energy per year. According to media reports, the panels have been supplied by Topsun Energy, based in Mehsana. The company has invested nearly Rs. 10 million for the project. This solar power facility will generate 1.90 lakh units of energy per year, taking care of 20% of the annual energy requirements of the plant. The estimated reduced carbon dioxide emission is by 2,225 tons during the project lifespan. The project utilizes the poly crystalline solar cell technology, has sourced A-grade solar cells from Solartech, Taiwan and the inverters are of KACO, Germany make. [Info as of: Oct. `16]
