Implementing NGO/CBO: Baan Bunglom Village Renewable Energy Group (BLEG): Founded in 2009 following a success of community participation in the project of the Ministry of Energy which focused on enhancing community technical and institutional capacity on holistic energy management of communities. The mandate of BLEG is to serve as a model for community learning and support communities and local administrative organization in community energy planning. Location of project: Agricultural area in Tambol Khlong Namlai, Khlonglarn District, situated in a plain between mountains which are watersheds of several creeks. In addition to power from grid, other kinds of fossil-based energy such as canned gas and gasoline are readily available. Target Population: 19,287 families in the location the majority of which depends upon agricultural practice (sugar cane, paddy mostly) and fossil fuel for livelihood activities .120 families are project direct participants. The per capita income is THB: 80,000. Main Activities to be carried out: 1.Launching capacity building through survey, analysis and training 2. Launching demonstration of activities: biogas, biomass, high-efficiency stoves, carbon sink 3. Launching dissemination of project results 4. Launching participatory evaluation /knowledge management Anticipated Results and Indicators: 1.Compiled more precise figures of resources availability and community energy use 2. Increased technical capacity on renewable energy technology of at least 10 persons-ability to be resources persons, and of 120 families being able to put into practice 3. Reduction of CO2 emission as follows: - 71,539 Kg/year from 60 high-efficiency stoves - 2,772 Kg/year from 20 biomass stoves (rice husk) -29,083 Kg/year from 20 biomass stove (saw dust) -8,410 Kg/year from 20 charcoal burning kiln -17,741 Kg/year from 50 biogas pits
