John Distilleries is planning an expansion of its molasses-based distillery at Village Chitali, dist. Ahmednagar, Maharashtra from 50 KLD to 150 KLD. S D Engineering Services is the environmental consultant. The project is waiting for environmental clearance. Work on the project is expected to commence in October 2017. According to MoEF sources, molasses-based distillery is to produce alcohol. Land area is 226.36 acres of its existing land. The estimated cost of the expansion project is Rs. 900 million.
