Kamaran Islands located in the Red Sea some 22 km away from shore at Assalif port (N 15o 33466 E 42o 60861). The population is 3000 inhabitants. Women are educated and aware of the value of their traditional crafts and its ram materials on the Islands. Women proposed revival of older Generation crafts and sustainable use of natural resources in which Doum Plam tree species is the basic element in their lives. The project aimed at training younger generation to preserve older generation sustainable, organic life style by using Doum palm in furniture, Packing materials, Housing and bedding, and various other products. Being aware that the natural resources base requires renewal through planting a 1000 date palm trees on the Islands. The project assist women acquiring solar energy system to operate ventilation in the working space as well as to operate some machines used in the training. Trained women (60 women) are able to make various products that can be used at their home and be sold to tourist visiting the Island through a community shop in their area hence realizing some income.
