Ma Chandi Durga Cement proposes an expansion of its cement grinding unit at Village Gopalpur, dist. Bardhaman, West Bengal from 0.33 MTPA to 1.122 MTPA. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 612.8 million. The current status of the project could not be ascertained. According to MoEF sources, the expansion entails installation of 2 new cement grinding ball mills, each of 50 TPH capacity, within the same plant premises for production of 0.792 MTPA Portland Slag Cement (PSC), Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) & Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). The proposed project will be installed on the available land within the existing plant area of 4.917 hectares. No additional land is required for the expansion project. The process selected for the grinding system is the state-of-the-art modern ball mill technology under closed circuit operation. Power required for the project will be sourced from the group company Durgapur Projects Limited. Additional godown in the packing plant area will be set up for the storage of bags. The entire project will be completed within 27 months time after getting environmental clearance. [Info as of: Nov. `16]
