Silvertoan Papers proposes an expansion of its semi kraft paper plant from 70 TPD to 180 TPD and agro residue pulp plant from 15 TPD to 120 TPD at Village Makhiyali, dist. Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. The current status of the project could not be ascertained. According to MoEF sources, the total plant area is 4.46 hectares and additional 0.72 hectares has been acquired adjacent to plant premises for greenbelt. The estimated cost of the expansion is Rs. 410 million. J.M.Environet is the consultant. Power requirement of 1,000 KW will be sourced from captive co generation power plant & UPPCL.
