The Ngamiland is renowned to be a place of attractive natural resource features, within these features the place is well endowed with different snake species because of it is a conducive environment which favours these kinds of species. Therefore this snake species as part of our valuable environmental features found in this area need protection and conservation .So inadequate capacity of the community to participate in the conservation and monitoring of biodiversity is a challenge. Though the very thought of a poisonous snake bite strikes fear in every person s heart, almost all of the 60 snake species found in Botswana are not vernomous.They are entirely harmless to humans and are greatly helpful in controlling amphibian and rodent population and this means that they have an important role to play in the environment. Therefore these are the kind of natural resource features of the Ngamiland area that can contribute a lot to the socio-economic and environmental heritage of the community if they are well protected and conserved by the community as a whole. The involvement of the community will improve their livelihoods through creation of employment .This will be achieved through making some policies on the protection of snakes as well as raising awareness on the importance of snakes to the community as part of their precious environment. The project aims at promoting conservation of snake species that exist in the Ngamiland area through making a SNAKE PARK .The aim is to educate the community about the importance of snakes in the community and also creating awareness on snake conservation .This conservation of snakes will be done with consideration of future generation; i.e. protecting snakes so that they do not get extinct. The project on the other hand was selected to create employment for youths and the local community.
