Environmental research

The project has a very big importance for the country both in terms of energy availability, energy efficiency and food security. All green houses across the country in 2011-2012 winter were cut off from gas distribution grid. This had big implications both for huge jump in more environmentally unfriendly fuels for heating green houses (wood fuel, coal, diesel) and food prices. Many green houses went out of business. The project aims: - to show how biogas can serve as a source of energy for green houses; - to show which types of green houses are the most energy efficient to use as little biogas as possible to conserve energy; - to show that biogas can be a good source of energy for poultry industry. The project is implemented by the Institute of vegetables and will have a big scope of audience among all farmers of Uzbekistan.
