Ultratech Cement, a flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, is planning a 3.5 MTPA cement manufacturing project at Tuni, dist. Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The estimatedcost of the project is Rs. 50 billion inclusive of another cement plant in Someshwar, dist. Almora, Uttarakhand. The Industrial Development Department has issued a letter of intent to the company. An MoU will be signed after the company fulfils the formalities that follow issuance of the letter of intent. The company has been asked to complete all the environmental clearances for setting up the two cement plants in the environmentally sensitive zones. The project is in planning stage.
