Northern Railway has inaugurated the Ranney well & water supply project at Shastri Park Area, dist. North Delhi, Delhi. A 27.45 meter deep with 7.5 meter diameter well (Ranney Well) has been dug which has maximum capacity of supplying 11,400,000 ltrs water/ day with 132 ltrs / sec. yield. 30 numbers of radial slotted pipes are attached in water collection assembly for collecting the water. 3 vertical turbine pumps each having motors of 150 HP have been installed. An electric sub station has been constructed with capacity of 2x250 KVA 11/0.4 KV and a standby DG set of 250 KVA. A 2,530 meter long pipe of 450 mm. diameter has been laid from the Ranney Well to Delhi Main railway station. A new underground tank has been constructed to store 225,000 ltrs of water at Delhi Main station. The project will ensure adequate water supply to stations of Delhi area. The yield and supplying of this water system can be monitored from by GPRS system Control office. The project was inaugurated on 27th March, 2014. [Info as of: Mar. `14]
