The proposed project consists of a local currency fixed-rate loan of up to DOP 2,150 million (approximately US$50 million) for up to seven years (the "Project") to Banco BHD Leon (the "Bank"), the second largest privately-owned bank in the Dominican Republic and a long-standing partner of IFC. The purpose of the Project is to support the Bank`s growth of its small and medium enterprises ("SMEs") portfolio. The project is consistent with IFCs Strategy in the Dominican Republic by emphasizing and strengthening linkages with existing clients to support their sustainability and expansion.
