Colourtex Industries proposes an expansion of its dyes & dye intermediates manufacturing unit at GIDC Sachin, dist. Surat, Gujarat. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 1,320 million. Aqua-air Environmental Engineers is the environmental consultant. The current status of the project could not be ascertained. According to MoEF sources, this proposal is to expand the production capacity by additional 3,275 TPM of dyes, 1,760.5 TPM of Intermediates, 600 TPM of formulation & spray drying of disperse, acid & reactive dyes wet press cake, 200 TPM of disperse/ vat dyes/pigment/ reactive/acid/direct dyes ink formulation and to install coal based captive co-generation power plant of 15 MWH capacity along with steam of 100 TPH. Total plot area is 294,324 sq. mtrs. This effluent will be treated in ETP consisting of primary, secondary & tertiary treatment and then discharged to GIDC drainage system.
