The Advisory Commission on Land DEGRADATION n ( CADETI ), established by Executive Decree No. 35216 -MAG -MINAET promotes the application of n n National Programmes of Action to combat DEGRADATION n the Land and Sequ aen Costa Rica (PAN ) of n convinced the United Nations to Combat Desertification Sequ a- ny the UNCCD . Shares t techniques of communication n , n environmental education and promotion of participatory spaces n and n generation of knowledge that must be performed in the watershed and the communities benefiting from the project be n counseled by the regional agencies of the Ministry of Environment , Energ ay Telecommunications ( MINAET ) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock to (MAG ) . Is expected to improve the perception of reality n the site where the project beneficiaries live , especially from the point of view of the capacity of their land use and possible overuse . This will allow them to make better decisions , to prevent soil erosion . The approach proposed by the PAN to intervene in communities Gesti n is the Watershed to retrieve the resource by works of n soil conservation , protection of acu n mammals , agricultural waste management queues and improving environmental knowledge area . The project is located in the basin of the river Jes s Sea in Northern Pac fico Costa Rica , in the corridor biol logical Monte del Aguacate (which corresponds to the priority area defined for Phase V Programme PPD) . The projects are located in the upper part of the basin, in the cantons of San Mateo, San Ram n , Athens , affecting communities or R Jes s San Ram n , Llano Brenes, Berl n , newsstands , Zapote , Freedom, lumberjacks , Dulce Nombre , San Mateo and Remove . The overall objective is to strengthen the operational and research institutions of CADETI in order to support the smooth operation of organizations providing advisory aa n 10 prioritized projects in the Basin Jes s Sea as part of the implementation of the National Programme for the Fight deAcci n against DEGRADATION n Earth in Costa Rica . One of the major contributions of the project to the objectives of PPD is strengthening institutions and capacity building institutions in the fields of environment and energy to ( CPAP Outcome expected, ROAR : Outcome 16 ) . Adem s contributes to the long-term objectives of the project operational phase Quinta Peque Program Grants GEF as Costa Rica which is "to ensure global environmental benefits trav s initiatives and community-based actions to address the fragmentation of n h habitat and improve ecological connectivity logic in twelve biol cal corridors linking eight Protected Areas and their buffer zones . " Project results n is consistent with the third result of that project : Contribute to sustainability and improving local livelihoods , to trav s n the conservation of productive lands and the restoration of degraded land n .
