Century Adhesive, a division of Century Plyboards (India) is planning a formaldehyde and resins manufacturing unit at Palasbari Industrial Estate-1, dist. Kamrup, Assam. The unit is to manufacture 15,000 TPA formaldehyde, 9,200 TPA phenol formaldehyde resin, 1,200 TPA melamine formaldehyde resin and 4,600 TPA melamine urea formaldehyde resin. Contractor is yet to be appointed. The project is waiting for environmental clearance. Work on the project is expected to commence in May 2017. According to MoEF sources, total land is 9,000 sq. mtrs, out of which 3,000 sq. mtrs will be developed as greenbelt. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 100 million. Power requirement of 200 KW will be sourced from A.S.E.B. The project is planned for completion in 12 months after getting all the regulatory approvals. [Info as of: Nov. `16]
