Environmental policy and administrative management

This project is implemented by a club of students from Wazalendo Secondary schools who have interest in environment conservation. The students want to increase their knowledge in environment conservation as well as to contribute in conservation work through tree planting activities. This club will plant trees along water ways and on gullies to prevent soil erosion. The project main activities will be to establish a tree nursery, to construct rainwater harvesting tank which will collect water for irrigation purposes. The use of rainwater will reduce the cost of water for tree nursery irrigation by 50% per month. The project will also construct Fuel wood efficient cooking stove for the school in order to reduce the consumption of fuel wood at school. Some of the seedlings from this tree nursery will be distributed to students for planting in their homesteads.
