Implementing NGO/CBO: Baan Sa Sob Hok Organic Farming Group (BSOG): Established in 2008 with 6 members who witnessed negative effects of chemical application in farming and its yield, the group now has 40 members trying to materialize organic farming to surrounding communities. In spite of limit technical and institutional skill, some members of the group had been awarded with GAP and food safety. Location of project: A forest- cultivated area in a flat plain situate between mountains in Tambol Baan Sa of Lampang Province s Jae Home District. Once a rich forest and fertile location for agriculture, now the location has been under threats by modern agricultural practice with intensive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticide. Target Population: 120 families in Baan(village) Sa Sob Hok of target location where 40 families are project direct participants. The per capita income is THB: 31,200. Main Activities to be carried out: 1.Launching capacity building through training and brainstorming 2. Launching demonstration of activities 3. Launching dissemination of project results 4. Launching participatory evaluation / knowledge management Anticipated Results and Indicators: 1.Increased capacity and awareness of target population witnessed by ability to produce at least 200 cu.M of organic compost and 2,000 litres of liquid organic fertilizer 2. At least 400-sq.M cultivated area/group being set aside for organic farming with at least 3 species of horticulture 3. Project organic products being distributed successfully with enough income set aside for a project fund 4. Formulated proposal to local administrative organization 5. Reduced chemical residue in bodies of project members by blood test
