Environmental policy and administrative management

The project aims t tulo: decrease the degradation of the land in the basin of the Jes s sea to through the promotion of pr agro-conservacionistas practices in the community of Berl n with the ratification of the United Nations Convention to combat desertification and the Sequ to (UNCCD), Costa Rica is pledge to develop a programme of action n Nacional (PAN) to combat and rehabilitate degraded lands. As part of the process of conceptualization of the bread are developed a methodology of prioritization of watersheds degraded through the use of indicators biof classics and based monkeys. By applying this methodology, was a selection of degraded areas, being the basin of the r or Jes s sea which is worse. This space geogr fico supports the effects of an impoverished area dismantled, migration of its inhabitants to urban centres by the exhaustion of its land, mainly in the upper parts of the basin and the deterioration of its agr queue models and as a result an unsustainable progressive decrease of the income of families. The small we farmers are facing reduced yields as a result of erosion and exploitation over n of the land available for activities such as confined to and crops on inappropriate sites and without the t appropriate techniques, which gradually resulted in a decrease in the quality of life of the inhabitants and a migration of population to urban areas of pa s. The escorrent as erode the soil on farms and roads, this caused because the soils are unprotected, without vegetation, with consequent damage to the production agr tail area and the lower areas of the basin. The overall objective of the project is thus: decrease the degradation of the land in the basin of the Jes s sea to through the promotion of pr agro-conservacionistas practices in the community of Berl n, through the strengthening of the capacities of the population, the implementation of pr practices for soil conservation and environmental education.
