Environmental research

The project aims to expose local communities, officials and decision makers to ecological design and construction methods. This is achieved through practically demonstrating the components of a sustainable living environment. The expected outputs of the project will be an ecologically advanced housing design drawing its inspiration from indigenous cultures and through providing an integrated solution for sustainability. Given the Government of South Africa`s priority for developing low-cost housing, the project explores the possibilities of developing low-cost housing using ecological building design.
