The Gwaunakwaru Conservation of Edible Wild Plants for Sustainable Livelihood Project was initiated to preserve/conservation traditional edible plants that are now near extinction because of introduction of foreign species/food. The effort now is to engage in capacity building activities on conservation issues, build local knowledge re conservation of edible plants and sustainable land use practices. Project Objectives: To promote conservation of wild edible plants through capacity building and workshops. To establish nursery and plant bank centre for distribution Establishment of alternative livelihood opportunities with youth and women s groups, to empower women to involve in activities and decision making
