Project Description
The project aims to strengthen biodiversity conservation in the area by establishing a Natura 2000 site and to contribute to a sustainable rural development of the lower Iza valley region, by promoting eco and agro-tourism. The area has a high level of biodiversity, Iza being most probaly the cleanest river in the Carpathians. Besides the elaboration of Natura 2000 documentation to be submitted to the Ministry of Environment, the organization will work closely with the local communities to develop The Participatory Strategic Plan for the Sustainable Rural Development. Based on this, the first ecotourism and agrotourism initiatives will begin. This way new directions for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development will be demonstrated.
