Project Description
The project goal: to reduce CO2 emissions in the village Opsa (Braslavsky district, Vitebsk region), as well as to demonstrate to the local population, organizations and businesses, as the use of geothermal energy can improve the quality of life, to be cost effective and to promote sustainable development in Braslav district Braslav Lakes National Park region. Project tasks and Expected results Task 1. Geothermal equipment installation for restoration of homestead in the village Opsa, Braslav district. Result 1. Geothermal heat pump capacity of 60 kW at the reconstructed homestead in the village Opsa installed (reduction of CO2 emissions by 50 tons / year). Reduction of energy consumption by 46% compared to the heating / cooling using electricity (up to 203,700 kWh / y) Task 2. Dissemenation of project results and experience on geothermal equipment usage for heating at local and regional level Result 1. Prepared and published an information booklet with a description of the geothermal equipment installation experience, disseminated among min. 300 enterprises of tourist infrastructure (including 253 private tourist estates owners and 6 recreational sites), public organizations, 9 village councils and other local authorities of Braslav district and other districts of the Vitebsk region. Result 2. Regional workshop on the use of geothermal energy for heating was held, aiming to promote the use of geothermal plants in the construction and restoration of buildings in Braslav district and other districts of the Vitebsk region.
