It s a demonstration project aiming at reuse the excessive waste accumulation of old car tires to establish a 1500 square meters children s playground in Bait Hannon village in the northern are of Gaza Strip. Along with equipping the garden with tire toys and playing facilities made of tires, the project will also raise the public awareness on techniques to reuse the tire wastes in an environmental-friendly manner. The project will contribute to the reduction of the resultant emissions of the tires burning such as lid oxide, zinc cadmium and CO2, N2, HCL and SO2 which have harming impact on the human health, air pollution, global warming and international ground waters. The Grantee will implement the following activities: Reusing 800 old car tires to establish children s playground. Equipping the playground with children s play facilities such as swings, pathways, pinches, and climbing steps. Protecting the garden with safely designed tires and concrete fence wall. Coordinating with the Municipality of Bait Hannon on the allocation of the land, supervision, and gardening responsibilities. The terms of agreement will form the basis for Memorandum of Understanding between ACAD and Municipality of Bait Hannon. Enhancing the commitment and ownership of the community towards the project by forming local committee from community leaders and social activities. Raising public awareness among the town community by designing, preparing and distributing brochures and garden guide. Creating jobs for at least six skilled workers plus indirect generation of other complementary activities for the garden. Preparing the garden layout and landscaping activities in consultation with a certified sign center. Involving the local community in the planting activities of the garden i.e school students.
