The overall objectives of the proposed project are: 1. To conduct Baseline of 20 Villages in order to assess the need of the targeted population in the Union Council Daulat Laghari, district Mirpurkhas 2. To carryout consultations for involvement of all stakeholders for the conservation of breed in one year 3. To support selected female community (Widows, Orphan and Poors) from 400 Aseel Chicken raring in the operational area in one year 4. To establish 10 Breed Management Awareness Committees- BMAC for the sustainability and conservation of the breed 5. To establish one Poultry Farm for the conservation of 400 Aseel chicken breed in the operational area in one year 6. To Create awareness and mobilize community of the targeted population on the Conservation of Aseel Chicken Breed in one year 7. To develop and disseminate IEC Material in local language for community awareness in one year Expected Output of the project 1. A Baseline report prepared and shared with client 2. Identification of the 200 most vulnerable and deprived female population in the operational area 3. Coordination and linkages developed with Mirpurkhas district Government officials and media personals regarding Conservation of Aseel chicken breed 4. Awareness raised in the targeted area among all stakeholders regarding conservation of Aseel chicken Breed in the operational area 5. Increase Aseel chicken breed 20-30% in the operational area 6. 200 poor deprived females selected to get benefited with the pair of Aseel breed 7. A Poultry farm developed in the targeted area for the conservation of the breed 8. Management and raring of Aseel breed chickens in the operational area 9. Transparent procurement takes place 10. Increase demand of Aseel breed chicken in the targeted area up to 30% in one year 11. Availability and presence of Aseel chicken breed in the operational area 12. Raise awareness of the conservation of Aseel chicken breed 13. Livelihood opportunity increased in the operational area 14. Visibility of the project take place in the operational area in one year 15. Developed case studies of the project 16. Evaluation of the Project 8) Anticipated Results (not more than 300 words) Scientifically developed Aseel farm in Mirpurkhas district will be the first ever established in Sindh province. Its raring earlier had been limited to maximum 15-20 birds in a local backyard farm. Aseel farming will not only promote awareness about the birds among local masses but will also provide a classical research work opportunity helping its long term preservation. SRF desires to shift the prime opportunity of raring Aseel from upper class to the poor and needy but potential hardworkers of the lower class in the area. Following are the Anticipated Results of the Project; a. Conservation and promotion of the threaten Aseel chicken breed within Sindh in general and District Mirpurkhas in particular b. Livelihood opportunities for poor females in the operational area c. Promotion of awareness regarding Aseels chicken raring amonst locals d. Redication of sense of depreviation amongst poor needy females of the area e. Poverty alleviation along with uplifting the living standards of poor masses in an easy and practical manner. f. Establishment of a model Aseel farm for its long lasting preservation
