The communities have a population size of about 45,000 persons with farming as a major source of occupation. This project is aimed at boosting the economic ability and salvages the impact caused by the indiscriminate cutting-down of trees in other to mitigate environmental challenges in the communities. This will involve creating awareness and enhance knowledge on climate change issues and its linkages to poverty and environment for informed decisions and policies improvement through training 50 community members (30 women, 20 Males) on coping strategies and sustainable adaptation practices to enhance food security and substantially protect the environment as part of global efforts to green the environment by collecting and planting 2000 species of Economic trees (Orange, guava, cashew, Moringa Oleifera etc.) that are unique to Africa, especially Nigerian flora planted on a 10 hectare of land provided by the benefiting communities. The expected role is to serve as mitigation for the effects of climate change, and restore the ecosystem. The project will also help build capacity of 50 farmers on compost manure production produce majorly from agricultural biodegradable waste, kitchen waste and animal dungs to boost agricultural produces which will in turn reduce the use of chemical fertilizers as well as empowering target community on livelihood enhancement which include but not limited to trainings on beads production, soap making (Liquid and Bar), Clothe weaving, Fashion design (Tailoring), Tie and dye, hat making and training on the use of cassava processing machine.
