Project objectives include; environmental sustainability, enhancing natural resource management, and livelihood enhancement. Due to the activities of felling trees for farming and fuel wood, most of the areas are now open, putting the environment in jeopardy. If a project is not implemented which will alter the behaviour pattern of the communities, especially women, more harm will be done to the environment. Intensive environmental education program, regular visit to local govt. and department of Agric. State HQ, Promotion of home-based horticulture and fruit trees garden Promotion of agro-forestry/woodlot establishment on common lands, Promotion of agro forestry on individual lands, Promotion of private and community Nursery development, organizing the women groups into CUAED-GEF Cooperative society, organizing empowerment training for the women group, Identify markets for products of the women groups and Promote CUAED-GEF environmental club in 1 no Primary and 1 no Secondary School. Women, men who are farmers and school children are the groups involved in the project.
