Although Nepalese farmers are engaged in traditional agriculture but the use of modern chemical fertilizers and pesticide is rampant. In a small VDC of Shankar Pokhari of Parbat district, farmers prefer chemical sources like nitrogen (NO3), phosphorous (P2O5), potash (K2O) and pesticides to organic manure. The project aimed to improve soil productivity in sustainable manner by introducing and by building local capacity on organic manure preparation, cattle-shed improvement, promoting leguminous crop and agrofrorestry for nutrient recycling
