Bio-diversity

This project seeks to complete the final component of the GEFSGP funded Monavale Vlei Biodiversity Project principally addressing the problem of general lack of wetland awareness, particularly amongst policy makers, which has been an important factor in the widespread destruction of Greater Harare s open green spaces and wetlands. These areas are critical in the provision of water to the city. Therefore the problem being addressed in this proposed project is wetland awareness. The techniques intended to address this include use of various media vehicles such as the publishing and distribution of a wetland brochure, liaising with print, radio and TV journalists for production of wetland education programmes and articles, as well as the supporting programmes of livelihood enhancement.
