African Wildlife Foundation & Sekute Community Trust - is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1961 and registered in 2001 to improve the capacity of African institutions and individuals to manage wildlife and other natural resources. Its purpose is to work with people of Africa to ensure the wildlife and wildlife lands of Africa endure forever. African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) core value is African led Conservation . AWF objectives is to; organize community scouts in a network and able who will monitor and establish a baseline survey and assess income generating opportunities for the community, establish pilot sports fishing enterprise demonstrating income generation for the community and improve biodiversity conservation, NRM and land use in Sekute community area. African Wildlife is headed by an international board of trustees. It is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.AWF works in nine priority landscapes, also known as Heartlands across 14 countries in central, eastern, southern and West Africa. The project is headed by the senior community conservation officer who is supported by the project Director. Project s main objective To build capacity of Sekute community Trust to coordinate and govern the further implementation of Natural Resource Management and land use in Kazungula District by; 1. Strengtheniing implementation capacity of Sekute community by providing practical on the job training to Sekute community. 2. Supporting natural resource protection operations by community scouts by Conducting education campaigns about the importance of conserving wildlife and putting land to good use in combating the fight against environmental degradation. 3.Establishing pilot sports fishing camps.
