Environmental policy and administrative management

The Training and capacity building programme is part of the GEF 1999-2002 Country Strategy. It is designed to address challenges and problems faced by the various grantees. These issues include weak institutional base, low operational capacity, lack of monitoring and evaluation system, lack of communication & Resource Mobilizations strategies. The programme is to build capacity within and among the grantees so that they can effectively absorb the UNDP- GEF/SGP funds as well as develop effective tools for communication, Monitoring & Evaluation and Resources Mobilisation. Indigenous CBOs/NGOs active in the UNDP-GEF/SGP focal areas are the primary target beneficiaries.
