Bio-diversity

The project provides demonstration, investment, educational and training activities with the combination of scientific monitoring of native ichthyofauna of Rivne region. The Project will support creation of the scientific and educational center for protection and reproduction of Rivne region ichtyofauna (sazan, bream, tench, cat-fish). There were many cases of mass losses of fish in Rivne region due to the acivity of a human being in 2010. The project aims at starting wide restoration activities with the center in Onyshkivtsi village. The NGO plans to wider the geographic area of the project to the historic Volyn, including neighboring Zhytomyr, Volyn regions. The Project results will contribute for protection, revitalisation and reintroduction of local ichtyofauna in the waters of Ukraine and amplify to bigger area of Ukrainian rivers. The community of Onyshkivtsi village together with the scientists from the National University for Water Management, Rivne regional Environmental Department, Mlyniv College of Veterinary Medicine will be directly involved in building the scientific center and reintroduction of fish spices. The Cadastre of Rivne Region Fish will be published in the framework of the Project. Wide awareness raising campaign is planned in the framework of the Project.
