Water resources policy and administrative management

Water quality and quantity enhancement of both aquifer and rain water, and water safety planning for small island community water supplies. The aim of employing the Water Safety Planning approach for island water supply is to consistently ensure the safety and acceptability of a drinking water supply in a practical manner. Where all risks cannot be immediatelyminimized because of limited resources, a water safety planning approach is implemented to make prioritized, incremental improvements over time. Employment of this tool developed byWHO in 2009 will help improve governance of water service provision at grass roots level by engaging the water consumer whose interest it is to ensure that the water consumed is safe and healthy. Engage students, youth, women and experienced trades people as well as island administration so that ownership of all the stakeholders are built into the program for sustainability and effectiveness.
