Purpose of the project: *To prevent direct burning of crop residues like rice straw which causes atomspheric pollution that affects the metropolitioin Cairo area. * To maximize benefits from agriculture wastes. * To introduce the organic farm system in rural communities. * To create new job opportunities for young people. *To reduce poverty rate in rural areas . Activities of this project: * Training the farmers and rural women on know-how of bioconversion of crop residues and animal wastes. *Technology transfer of compost methodology from agriculture residues and utlilization of compost for crop fertilization. * Meetings, workshops and field visits were achieved for awarness promotion for maximizing beneflts from agricultural wastes. To sum up: Collecting agricultural wastes from harvested land and mechanical recycling by breaking and converting into fertilizers. unpollution of environment by the way of recycling without burning and protecting water. Moving away insects and rice by getting rid of agricultural wastes . Reducing fertilizers and insecticides use. raise awareness on the best way to recycle agricultural wastes.
