Project location:Dorge Sangi, Sirangoli, Naghadeh, West Azarbaijan(Lat/Long:36.9586710-45.3810880) The project is concerned with the seasonal rehabilitation of Dorge Sangi Wetland which is a designated Ramsar Site after the drought. A planning grant had been awarded to the NGO continue assisting the government agencies to keep the canals open and to conduct the baseline studies to formulate a project help maintaining the seasonal wetland and help to promote multi-sectoral cooperation. The main project will be involved in dredging the 18 Km of canals from Qadar River to maintain the flow of the unused farming water during winter. The ecosystem will be diligently monitored and the group will extensively continue seeking the cooperation of the local authorities for different permits and awareness raising programs. The project will also be involved in the environmental educational plan designed by the provincial bureau of Department of Environment in 5 schools. Finally a film (Farsi as well as a booklet (Farsi) on the of process of the project will be produced. The outputs and progress of the project will be disseminated in 2 final workshops in Tehran and West Azerbaijan Provinces.
