Water resources policy and administrative management

The conservation of the marine environment in Aqaba and boat passenger safety are one of the most important aspects when it comes to boat maintenance. One of the important safety instructions to boat owners is to check and conduct maintenance on boat engines periodically. This will insure the efficient work of the engine and reduce the environmental impacts on the marine environment and land based pollution. For this reason, a boat maintenance centre will be established on a piece of land (1200 m2) granted by ASEZA in the Industrial City of Aqaba. The built hunger will occupy 200 m2 of land and will aid in the renovation and maintenance of 80 glass boats and also cover the maintenance of speed boats. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: This project will aim to reduce the marine pollution and marine habital destruction on the coasts of Aqaba through the renovation and upgrading of the current functioning glass boats. This in turn will help organize and improve the performance and efficiency of the glass boats, and minimize land based pollution.This will consequently build an enticement for adopting environmentally friendly practices and thereby increasing the levels of income generated by glass boat owners.
