Project Location:Qale Routaleh Village,Divandareh,Kordestan Divandarreh - Kourdestan(Lat/Long: 35.921827-47.013245) SGP activity in the northern/central part of Zagros in Kurdistan initiated through two previous projects with Damoun on traditional management of Oak Forests. These projects created a wider recognition of SGP and its bottom up methodology and helped to promote community forestry and serious dialogue on related policy matters to legalize traditional forestry and to start a community forestry programme in Kurdistan University as well to link applied research to the needs of developing pilots in community. The cooperation with various communities and relevant government agencies is extending to other parts of Kurdistan on pasture management to develop participatory cases for demonstration: As a tripartite cooperation between the community, Forest and Rangeland Management and SGP 5 sub projects will be executed such as, plantation of medicinal herbs, pine, honey bee, handicraft and mushrooms A quarterly newsletter will be prepared by the project
