Environmental policy and administrative management

In Ngozi province in general and in Gashikanwa District in particular, there is a problem of soil erosion as well as low crop production level due to the low soil fertility level and that situation is increasing poverty in rural communities. The project is aiming the installation of erosion control device on Nyakibari and Kivumu hills, the sensitization of rural households on environement protection, training in nurseries implementation, production and plantation of 100, 000 trees, the construction and the use of improved cooking stoves, training on modern cows breeding and proving rural community with improved cow species. The project is implemented by the NGO APPE (Association pour la Protection de lEnvironnement)
