Implementing NGO/CBO:Community Council of Tambol Baan Dua (CCTD): Established by congregation of various community groups in 2008 based on the community organization Act, CCTD is mandated to cooperate/coordinate with other sectors in launching community development. There are 4 members from each village serving as the committee of the council. Especially, CCTD is experience in launching campaign to reverse chemical application in cultivated area. Location of project: A cultivated land of about 2,713 ha in Nongkhai Province s Tambol Baan Dua , a hilly and flat land area once rich in forest and fresh water biological diversity of Mekong River Basin. Farmers in the location have been intensively applying chemical fertilizer and pesticide for paddy and other seasonal crops, prompting land degradation, increasing operating cost and affecting biological diversity. Target Population: 1,946 families in target location of which 411 families are project direct participants. The per capita income is THB: 29,286. Main Activities to be carried out: 1.Launching capacity building through open forum sharing experience 2. Launching demonstration of activities: Integrated farming, Integrated Pest Management, family and community forest 3. Launching dissemination of project results 4. Launching participatory evaluation Anticipated Results and Indicators: 1.Increased capacity and awareness of participating families (at least 70 % ) witnessed by ability to put into practice integrated farming, Integrated Pest Management 2. Witnessed diversified of at least 5 species in plots of 50 % of participating families 3. Emergence of 50 families as models of innovation and best practice on management of family forest 4. Compilation of knowledge and experience on water management and sustainable agriculture
