Bio-diversity

Project is to address land degration issues that were caused by uncontrolled slash and burn and unsustainable logging practices. Related issues such as destroyed Wetlands, top soil erosion, land slides, damaged water sources destroyed ecosystems and tree unsustainable harvesting leads to absence of soil fertility and stability as well as mass damaged of waterways and ecosystems in the area. The main focuses of the project are; environmental management,Income generating and capacity building; these including awareness raising of the importance of natural ecosystems and their interdependance, sustaible harvesting and best management practices; Establihment of nusery and tree palnting activities and capacity buiding through provision of trainings on planting and best practices. Expected outputs: under ground water storage will be improved; wetlands restored; waste lands have economic value as a result of reaforesting; landslides reduced; soil on logged land enriched.
