Environmental research

Project targeted communities that are subjected to severe drought and flood annually. Forest and land is highly degraded in the project area and community members have been living utilizing shifting cultivation. This project is intended to provide professional skills with regards to Por Sa product development considering its limited availability in the wild by promoting for growing of Por Sa as another alternative income sources for the poor villagers whose livelihood is highly dependent in seasonal shifting crops growing, the villagers sometimes solicite labor at the provincial center and other places and intermittently collect NTFPs from the shrinking forest areas specially after the harvest season. Disabled people in the community will be the major beneficiaries of the project with special attention to women.
