The Municipality of Veles follows modern trends, and at the same time tries to overcome the epithet of the most polluted cities in the Balkans and beyond. The Municipality of Veles has a Programme for energy efficiency from 2010 - 2014 in which one of the priorities is to ensure energy efficiency and sustainable development of the Sport hall Gemidzhii. This gym daily visit over 100 people belonging to different age, gender and ethnic groups. Also, it increases electricity consumption from year to year, especially since begun to invest in more different kinds of sports activities - like place for training of local sports male and female clubs, realization of different local, national and international competitions in football, table tennis, handball and many others, training of small players, ping - pong, fitness, aerobics, zumba, karate and more. The installation of the solar collector for hot sanitary water will significantly reduce the cost of electricity at the month and the year level. So, this will allow the purchase of sports equipment from the saved funds and new solar investments. Also, installation of energy efficient lighting in the sports hall will reduce the emissions of CO2. This energy efficient system will allow not only saving energy and money, but proper development of the young generation in a healthy environment by using solar energy as a necessary condition for the adaptation and integration of the human being in the society. Also, the project activities plan to provide a plan for mapping of the potential public buildings in the city, as well as education resource for the possibility of making project applications for energy efficiency and sharing of experience. The local population and the municipality will be involved in proposing possible solutions to overcome the problems in order to become Veles as positive example of energy efficient municipality in the region. Our organization will gain experience, professional expertise and positive promotion in the field of energy efficiency. We will tend to initiate, encourage and implement activities for environmental protection in the unicipality of Vele , in order to strength the environmental awareness, protection of health of the local population and promotion of renewable energy in all spheres of life.
