Bio-diversity

The basic aim of the project is decrease of manmade pressure on natural walnut forests in the 3 sites of Kugart valley. The main performance tool of the project is conservation biodiversity through the rehabilitation of relict forest by planting saplings of walnut, wild kind of almonds, apple included in the Red Book and pasture regulation around the three villages Abdyraimova, Kalmak-Kirchin, Chaty. The basic components of the project are: -Planting of walnut (8600 saplings), apples (wild grades - 5924 saplings), almonds (44 kg of seeds) in 3 sites (92 hectares in total). - The organization of mini-nursery (0,1 hectares). - Fencing the planting sites and stopping grazing . Two sites are located in the upper part of Kugart river valley where natural walnut forests remain. The third site is located in the lower part of the valley where walnut woods were formerly, but now they are totally destroyed. The terracing of the slopes will be used to make plantation in the third plot.
